Retired astronaut Chris Hadfield helps debunk (and confirm!) some common myths about space. Is there any sound in space? Does space smell like burnt steak? Is NASA working on warp speed?

Wow, I really never had thought about the sun being essentially the loudest single source of sound in the solar system… It's just that we can't hear it because of what commander Hadfield explains here. So. The sun is SUPER noisy! Wild stuff!!

I think Chris mentioned being a part-time musician to be more relatable to the average person, and to show there are artistic interests in his life in addition to the sciences. Seems like a great guy!

I love how he mentions he’s an astronaut, spaceship commander and space walker while also adding part time musician just in case we needed to really get an idea of how brilliant he is

I've got a masters degree in physics and astronomy and his explanation with the clock is the best explanation of general relativity I've heard.

It's surprising that i finished the video and i actually learned something even though im not that into space talk... he's like one of those teachers that no matter how hard the subject is but when he's the one teaches it you'll understand

Fun Fact, ‘Cryosleep’ was actually tested successfully with mice in the 1950s but it was concluded that we wouldn’t be able to replicate fast enough with humans and it would damage our cells as described in the video. It is however how we discovered how to preserve things like blood and organs for transplants :)

He answers these so nicely. Instead of saying "No, that's impossible, those movies are dumb," he shrugs and says "Well, we don't know how to do that yet!"

I love how "comfortingly" he debunked myth number 1 :^D Great personality and delivery, I can see him very successfully hosting a TV program on Science and Space.

The clock analogy was both incredibly simple and mind blowing at the same time

He seems to be a very cool guy even if he is destroying some of my favorite sci-fi tropes.

A great thing listening to him talk about these things is he never says it’s impossible but instead we don’t know yet which is something I think many people should think in all sorts of parts in there lives.
